Saddle Fenders

The connection between the stirrups and the main body of the saddle is called a FENDER. The Saddle Online Shop’ Fenders have an easy sliding adjustment mechanism called a ‘Blevins Buckle’ to hold the stirrup in position for easy foot access, which keeps your ankle in alignment .
The fender serves as a barrier between your leg and the horse, keeping your leg from contacting the horse's sweat or creating friction. The shape and size of fenders varies from saddle to saddle; the shape is more about style than function. 
Adjusting the fender length so that the stirrup is comfortably on the rider's foot is important.
