Ammo Belt Size Guide: How to Measure and Fit

Ammo Belt Size Guide

Finding the right ammo belt size is simple when you measure correctly. This quick guide shows where to wear the belt, how to measure over your clothing, and how to match that measurement to the correct size.

Wear the belt between your waist and hips, over the clothing you actually plan to wear. That gives you the most accurate fit and the best balance of comfort, support, and access.

How to Measure for an Ammo Belt

Step 1: Put on the type of clothing you normally wear with the belt, such as a shirt, jacket, or hunting coat.

Step 2: Decide where the belt will sit. For most people, an ammo belt rides between the natural waist and the hips.

Step 3: Wrap a soft tape measure around that exact spot. Keep it snug, but not tight.

Step 4: Use that measurement to choose your belt size from the chart below.

Ammo Belt Size Chart

Belt Size Waist
Size 1 31 in to 35 in
Size 2 36 in to 40 in
Size 3 41 in to 45 in
Size 4 46 in to 50 in

Important Fit Notes

Ammo belt size is not the same as your pants size. Always measure around your body where the belt will actually sit.

Measure over your real clothing, especially if you plan to wear the belt over a jacket or heavier layers.

If you fall between two sizes, sizing up usually gives a better fit and more adjustment room.

Ammo loop count may vary depending on belt size and caliber.
